Westside Farm Management, Inc.

My interests lie in farm management, general agricultural consulting, and the advancement of technology in agriculture. I own a business known as Scroggs Consulting L.L.C. and am partners in a second farm management company known as Westside Farm Management Inc., both of which are based in Bakersfield, Ca. I have been extremely successful in the farming industry and have strived to obtain an excellent reputation as a farm manager. I fully intend to continue to perform at the level of excellence I have achieved in the past.

Jeremy began his career as a Farm Manager at Pioneer Nursery in 2005. Soon after, he formed 2B Farming Inc with his father Brian Blackwell to handle farm management services for additional clients. Jeremy graduated from Cal State Bakersfield in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. In 2008 he was part of the founding committee that formed the California Pistachio Research Board and has been a board member ever since. In 2010 he was elected to the board of Directors for the American Pistachio Growers (APG). He also served as the Chairman of the Government Affairs committee of the APG and on the Executive Board. He currently serves on both the Lost Hills Water District and the Cawelo Water District. Jeremy currently manages over 12,000 acres of Pistachios, Almonds, Wine Grapes, and Citrus in California.

I am a second generation Pistachio farmer, born and raised on a Pistachio farm in the Dudley Ridge area with over 28 years’ experience in Pistachio production in young and mature orchards; located in Kings, Tulare and Kern counties. For the past 18 years, I managed >2000 acres of mature and young pistachios orchards. During this time period, I was actively involved in the industry including research trials and collaborations, guest speaking, leadership and continuing education. I have witnessed first-hand the Pistachio industry’s evolution through science, cultural practices and technology while gaining valuable hands-on knowledge. With a strong passion for Pistachio farming, I look forward to farming for many years by expanding my expertise through innovation and technology implementation. My focus is to meet adversity head on in today’s ever-evolving Ag industry and to maintain productivity, profitability and sustainability for future Pistachio growers.
